We were founded as the vocal group Special Delivery in July, 1993, in Paramus, NJ. We released two CDs, opened for many classic groups from the 50s and 60s, won UGHA's Acapella Group of the Year, sang at hundreds of venues and made hundreds of friends.
With the passage of time we re-branded as Wide Variety. Some members have moved on, others have come on board, a couple even re-joined. Through the years we remain dedicated to vocal excellence, to classic oldies, and to our many friends. We are happy to count you among them!
Wide Variety is
Bud Cuttito, baritone and sound engineer, Paramus NJ
Mike Guthrie, tenor and superdad, Nyack NY
Jim Hammill, bass and website guy, Caldwell NJ
Rick King, tenor and classic car restorer, Budd Lake NJ
Dane Marble, tenor and main contact guy, Hackensack NJ
Mike Mulligan, tenor and golf (near) pro, Paramus NJ
Billy Peters, tenor and woodworker extraordinaire, Dumont NJ
Phil Ruggiero, baritone and musical director, Paramus NJ
Back in 1993, we never would have dreamed that our musical partnership would have endured this long, or have meant so much to so many. It is with gratitude that we note those who have sung with us over the years:
Michael Barchetto, Jeff Block, Jim Espaillat, and Jimmy Mastrull
Thanks, guys. Hope you are singing and smiling.
We were proud to open for Rock and Roll Hall of Famers, The Flamingos, in Chicopee MA:
From way back in 1993, here's Special Delivery's rendition of the Orioles' classic
"It's Too Soon to Know," featuring Mike Mulligan and Jim Espaillat sharing the lead
(Mike is still with us!)
From that same concert in 1993, Special Delivery's rendition of the Flamingos' ballad,
"My Lovely One"
